A Brief OverviewThe Corporate Controller is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's accounting, treasury, and tax operations, including planning and managing the annual external audit, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, compliance with regulations, budget adherence, and alignment with strategic financial objectives. This role partners with the executive leadership team to manage risk, support financial planning and analysis, and provide strategic financial insights to support organizational growth and decision-making. What you will do
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP or other relevant standards. Oversee compliance with internal controls, credit agreement covenant requirements, and external audit requirements.
Develop, implement, and continuously improve robust internal control frameworks. Identify, evaluate, and mitigate financial and operational risks across the organization.
Working with the VP of FP&A, lead the planning and execution of annual budgeting processes. Provide ongoing financial forecasting and collaborate with business leaders to monitor financial performance.
Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting teams, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and professional growth. Evaluate team performance and guide succession planning initiatives.
Oversee tax strategy, planning, and compliance with federal, state, and international regulations. Coordinate with external advisors and auditors as needed.
Support mergers and acquisitions (M&A), integration initiatives, and other strategic financial projects, including system implementations.
Represent the organization in financial discussions with key stakeholders, including investors, lenders, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
Manage all treasury functions, including relationships with banks, 13-week cash flow forecasting, and ensuring appropriate strategies are developed and implemented to maintain and improve liquidity.
Develop and execute financial strategies to improve profitability, operational efficiency, and cash flow management.
Develop, implement, and maintain the accounting policies of the organization, including inventory costing. Ensure appropriate training is in place.
Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging financial practices to ensure continuous compliance and innovation.
Collaborate with the CFO and executive team to support the company’s long-term growth and strategic objectives.
Education Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. (Required) or
Master's degree in business administration (MBA) or related field. (Preferred)
Experience Qualifications
10 years progressive accounting and financial management experience. (Required)
7-9 years in a corporate accounting/finance environment supporting multiple manufacturing locations, including in Cananda and the EU. (Preferred)
7-9 years proven expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and tax compliance. (Preferred)
7-9 years in manufacturing, consumer goods, or related industries. (Preferred)
7-9 years working in a Private Equity portfolio company. (Preferred)
