POSITION DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Fill orders as needed to meet vendor/customer requirements.
- Assist shipping and receiving by unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching Purchase Orders to Sales Orders.
- Read Customer Orders, Work Orders Shipping Orders or Requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped.
- Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
- Fill Requisitions, Work Orders, or Requests for Materials and distributes them to shipping or to designated route driver storage area.
- Assist in counting of physical inventory.
- Organize warehouse and work areas for orderliness at all times.
- Sweep, dust and mop warehouse as needed.
- Will be required to perform other warehouse duties as requested, directed or assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- None.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES: \
- Ability to maintain safe work environment.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- HazMat Training is a plus.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree(GED); three months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Requires heavy lifting.
- Requires standing for 8-10 hours per day.
- Requires kneeling/ squatting for 4-6 hours per day.
- Requires bending/ stooping for 4-6 hours per day.
- Requires use of Pallet Jack to move palletized containers. Palletized containers weigh about 2,000 lbs.
- Requires lifting and carrying objects that weigh between 36-55 lbs. from 2-4 hours per day.
- Requires regular lifting and carrying objects that weigh less than 15 lbs. from 8-10 hours per day.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work is performed in an outside warehouse environment.
- Exposure to elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, oils and weather conditions.
