From a single location with two employees in San Antonio, Texas, VP has grown to over 300 employees with five company-owned and operated race fuel distribution points in Texas, Indiana, Delaware, and Tennessee, a regional office in southern California, and an international office in Berlin. Each of these distribution points maintains an inventory of VP fuels available for immediate transport within a day's drive to virtually any major racing event in North America. VP is now recognized by many as the world leader in race fuel technology, with a catalog of more than 80 fuel blends and a growing roster of VP-fueled champions across the entire spectrum of motorsports.

Job Summary :

As the HR Generalist at VP Racing, you will be a part of shaping our company culture and supporting our rapid growth. The ideal candidate should possess a strong work ethic and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources, this role will be based at our plant in Elmendorf, TX with rotating days at the corporate office as needed. The Human Resource Generalist will support a range of HR Functions, including full-scale payroll and onboarding process, recruiting, hiring and interviewing staff, administering benefits, and leave, enforcing company policies and practices, and labor & employee relations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Processes full cycle multi-state payroll. (Bi-Weekly)
  • Performs employee maintenance including, new hires, deductions, salary changes, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
  • Assist in audits and investigations to ensure and maintain Federal / State employment law compliance. Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments, including safety training, anti-harassment training.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; partners with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings, creates and edits job descriptions as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employees at the site, to promote and foster open communication and trust.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Performs new hire orientation, onboarding, and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills / Abilities :

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state employment laws & regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
  • Education and Experience :

  • High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or related field strongly preferred.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in HR, preferably in a manufacturing / warehouse environment.
  • 3 years Multi State Payroll Experience required, Paylocity strongly preferred.
  • SHRM-CP preferred but not required.

  • Physical Demands :

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 lbs.
  • This job is primarily in a plant facility and may be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, and oils.
