Warehouse Manager

Compensation: $27-$30 per hour DOE
We’re looking for a hands-on, innovative Warehouse Manager who will lead daily warehouse operations and actively support, train, and mentor the team. The ideal candidate will identify challenges, find solutions, and ensure the team is working efficiently while maintaining regulatory compliance. This role requires a leader who is engaged in the workflow, not just overseeing tasks but also working alongside the team to improve processes and uphold high standards. The Warehouse Manager must be reliable, proactive, and focused on compliance, especially in a pharmacy environment, ensuring accuracy and adherence to FDA and state pharmacy regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Workforce Management
- Develop and distribute weekly schedules in advance, accounting for workload demands and peak times.
- Monitor attendance, review time-off requests, and adjust schedules as needed.
- Lead weekly or bi-weekly warehouse meetings to discuss updates, address concerns, and promote teamwork.
- Foster a positive team environment by resolving challenges and ensuring employees adhere to compliance and performance standards.
Warehouse Operations & Compliance
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring accuracy in order fulfillment, labeling, packing, and shipping.
- Support and assist Pharmacy Warehouse Technicians with:
- Labeling Medications – Ensuring prescriptions are labeled correctly for dispensing.
- Sorting Orders – Verifying completeness and flagging any missing items.
- Packing & Shipping – Ensuring orders are packed securely and meet compliance standards.
- Maintaining a Clean Workspace – Upholding safety and compliance regulations.
- Create and manage daily/weekly shipping and pickup schedules.
- Ensure shipments align with clinic availability—preventing deliveries on days they cannot receive them.
- Handle last-minute shipping changes, ensuring adjustments are communicated efficiently.
- Order packing supplies (not managed by the Asset Manager) to maintain operational flow.
- Manage and oversee urgent shipments, including:
- Dropping off missed packages at UPS or FedEx after pickup times.
- Retrieving undelivered packages from UPS or FedEx when necessary.
- Ensure monthly fridge cleanings are completed within the first week of the month.
- Conduct audits to maintain quality control and compliance with FDA and pharmacy regulations.
Cross-Departmental Communication & Logistics Management
- Act as the primary liaison between the warehouse, administration, and clinics regarding shipping, lost packages, and order discrepancies.
- Respond to emails from admin teams and clinics regarding missing medications, package delays, and shipping concerns.
- Work closely with the Shipping Coordinator to oversee pharmaceutical shipments and pickups, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Collaborate with other departments to align warehouse logistics with clinic schedules and administrative needs
- Assist in conflict resolution and problem-solving, working collaboratively with both employees and other departments.
Employee Training & Development
- Lead onboarding and training for new hires, ensuring they understand warehouse processes and compliance expectations.
- Continuously update training materials to improve safety, efficiency, and compliance.
Qualifications
- Prior warehouse management, logistics, or supervisory experience required.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience training teams and implementing process improvements.
- Familiarity with FDA and pharmacy regulations is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to stand for extended periods.
- May require lifting and moving inventory as needed.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must be willing to obtain a provisional license upon employment if they do not already have a Pharmacy Technician Certification. VPI will cover the cost of both the provisional license and certification.
