Key Responsibilities:
- Advance and improve the current safety program and policies to maintain compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations and industry standards.
- Lead the corporate safety committee while advancing the team’s overall knowledge of industry accepted safety standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Lead safety training sessions and workshops for strengthening leadership’s and employee’s knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessments, and the like.
- Improve and advance accident investigation skills and safety incidents, preparing detailed reports, and recommending preventive measures.
- Oversee Workers Compensation program for the business.
- Collaborate with senior and functional leadership, Engineering, Human Resources, and Maintenance to foster a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.
- Stay current with industry trends and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance and improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Environmental Health or equivalent industrial experience in a similar role.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience as the head of Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) is preferred and leadership with growing and expanding a program across multiple divisions is a plus.
- Certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
