Job Description:
As an Immigration Paralegal at VPP , you will play an integral role in assisting our attorneys in preparing and filing immigration applications, petitions, and legal documents. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of immigration procedures and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. You will work closely with clients to gather necessary documentation and ensure the timely processing of cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing and filing various immigration applications and petitions, including family-based petitions, employment-based petitions, adjustment of status, naturalization, and asylum applications.
- Conduct client interviews and gather necessary documentation for immigration cases.
- Draft forms, petitions, and supporting documentation to ensure accurate and complete filings.
- Maintain case files, ensuring all client documents are properly organized and up-to-date.
- Communicate with clients to provide status updates, answer questions, and request additional information when necessary.
- Prepare and submit responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs).
- Perform legal research on immigration laws, regulations, and policies.
- Assist in preparing clients for interviews with immigration officials, including consular processing and adjustment of status interviews.
- Maintain and update case management systems to track deadlines, hearings, and filings.
- Provide general administrative support to attorneys and the legal team, including scheduling meetings and preparing correspondence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of [2-5] years of experience as an Immigration Paralegal.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. immigration law and procedures.
- Experience with filing family-based and employment-based immigration petitions.
- Familiarity with immigration forms such as I-130, I-485, I-140, I-765, I-131, N-400, and others.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and case management software (e.g., Clio, INSZoom, or similar).
- Ability to communicate in [Spanish or other languages, if applicable] is a plus.
