Position Summary
The Senior ROI Director of Operations West is responsible for overseeing ROI-related operations across the designated Western U.S. region, with a focus on California. This individual will lead service delivery, ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulations, manage client relationships, and drive team performance. Additionally, the Director will manage regional profit and loss (P&L) and lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance client satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
The Senior ROI Director of Operations West is accountable for:
Operational Management
- Oversee and manage ROI operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and compliance.
- Safeguard patient health records and ensure adherence to HIPAA and other applicable standards.
- Manage regional profit and loss (P&L) budgets, overseeing revenues exceeding $10M.
- Coordinate with site management to address operational challenges and implement improvements.
Client Account Management
- Serve as the primary account manager for healthcare clients in the Western U.S., ensuring satisfaction and addressing client concerns proactively.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering high-quality ROI services aligned with VRC standards.
Team Leadership
- Mentor, coach, and support the professional development of hourly staff and supervisory teams within the ROI function.
- Foster a collaborative work environment focused on accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement capacity management strategies to optimize resource allocation.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure all operational practices comply with federal and state regulations, including HIPAA.
- Participate in operational audits and implement corrective actions to address identified risks.
Strategic Initiatives and Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with project teams and committees to develop and execute operational strategies for ROI services.
- Lead process improvement efforts to enhance efficiency and client outcomes.
Qualifications
To qualify for the Senior ROI Director of Operations West position, individuals must meet the following criteria:
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Health Information Management (HIM) with a focus on ROI.
- At least 2 years of experience managing employees and overseeing operational processes.
- Bachelor s degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of healthcare operations, including Release of Information (ROI) management.
- Proven ability to identify process improvements and implement effective solutions.
- Experience coordinating complex teams and managing capacity planning.
- Strong knowledge of data entry, office procedures, and standard office equipment.
- Willingness to travel up to 55% of the time to multiple sites across the Western U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
- RHIT or RHIA credentials.
- Master s in Health Administration (MHA) or a related HIM degree.
Work Environment and Requirements
- This is an onsite/field-based position requiring residence within the Western U.S. region or the ability to travel extensively to the region. Approximately 65% of time will be spent onsite.
- Compliance with post-offer health screenings and vaccination requirements may be necessary, depending on client site requirements. VRC will review exemption requests on a case-by-case basis in accordance with applicable laws.
