Essential Duties:
Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and repair malfunctions in plastic injection molding machines, hydraulic and electric presses, and other manufacturing equipment.
Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
Team Leadership: Manage and coach the maintenance team, including providing training, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Safety: Champion safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. Conduct safety training and promote a safe work environment.
Inventory and Documentation: Oversee the ordering of MRO parts, maintain accurate inventory records, and interpret equipment manuals and work orders.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes and equipment efficiency. Track and report on key maintenance metrics, such as equipment uptime, repair costs, and preventive maintenance compliance.
Facilities Maintenance: Perform building repairs and improvements as needed.
Collaboration: Work effectively with production teams, vendors, and other departments to ensure efficient operations.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Strong Electrical Background: Extensive experience with industrial electrical systems, including PLC programming and troubleshooting.
Mechanical Aptitude: Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment.
Troubleshooting Expertise: Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve complex equipment issues.
Leadership Skills: Experience leading and motivating a team of maintenance technicians.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information.
Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel) and comfortable using email and internet resources.
Experience: 3 years of experience maintaining industrial equipment, preferably in a plastics manufacturing environment.
Education: Associate/Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred. Advanced electrical and/or mechanical education is a plus.
Certifications: Forklift and lockout/tagout certification required.
Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
This role requires physical stamina, including lifting up to 75 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels and potential exposure to high temperatures. Must be able to drive between company locations.
