At VS Engineering, a Design Engineer will take the lead on design tasks for diverse infrastructure projects within our Lafayette, IN office. The Lafayette Office boasts a rich history of delivering outstanding solutions in traditional and historic bridge design, urban and county roadways, streetscapes, and public works projects for municipalities, counties, and academic institutions.
A Typical Day May Include
- Develop transportation, and bridge and structures construction documents and specifications under the supervision of a senior design engineer
- Participate and assist the team with planning, design and structural inspection of various civil engineering projects
- Contribute to the preparation of planning documents, engineering plans, details, reports, specifications and cost estimates
- Assist in coordinating with clients, regulators and permitting agencies
- Help prepare contract documents for bidding
- Compete field assignments like data collection and departmental observation
