Job Description:

We are seeking a System Administrator with expertise in Teradata and strong experience in database management, performance tuning, and backup and recovery solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and troubleshooting databases to ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and resolve complex database/system issues.

• Use database/system management tools proficiently.

• Monitor and tune existing databases of medium complexity and business exposure.

• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve database-related problems.

• Provide technical support to Services and Development teams.

• Design, create, implement, and support databases to meet project requirements.

• Implement changes to existing databases and install/configure new database engines.

• Implement physical data models at the project level.

• Create and document database backup, recovery, capacity, and security plans.

• Optimize SQL for both developers and customers.

• Perform performance tuning using TASM.

• Work with NetBackup BAR solution for backup and recovery.

• Design, model, configure, test, and install databases.

• Troubleshoot database backup, recovery, capacity, and security plans.

• Administer, maintain, and implement database changes based on customer requirements.

• Respond to test and production database issues, ensuring immediate resolution.

Required Skills:

• Strong expertise in Teradata database administration.

• Experience in SQL optimization and database tuning.

• Hands-on experience with TASM for performance tuning.

• Proficiency with NetBackup BAR solution for backup and recovery.

• Solid understanding of physical database design, capacity planning, and security planning.

• Knowledge of data modeling, query languages, and database engines.

• Familiarity with operating systems, software development methodologies, and networking systems.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in implementing physical data models at the project level.

• Strong documentation skills for database administration processes.

• Knowledge of database migration and upgrade processes.

• Experience in troubleshooting production database issues.
