Safety Wire Technician I

SUMMARY: The Safety Wire Technician will install safety wire and preserve civil aviation articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturers’ Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Services Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Preserve all components in accordance to the component maintenance manual.
• Install safety wire and seals on components after the final function test has been performed.
• Install safety cable on components after the final function test has been performed.
• Review all documentation to ensure it is correct before transferring the component to the next stage in the process.
• Install shipping caps and plugs onto components.
• Communicate priority challenges to the Production Coordinator for clarification.
• Document maintenance records of all work performed.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (INCLUDES EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES), ETC.):

• High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
• No experience needed.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and illustrations.
• Proficient in writing and communication skills.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS (INCLUDES PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES), ETC.):

• 1 year of safety wire experience.
• High Mechanical aptitude.

OTHER (INCLUDE LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, SECURITY CLEARANCE, TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS, ETC.):

• The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
