What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ignition Exciter Technician I position at VSE Careers?
SUMMARY: The Ignition Exciter Technician will perform maintenance and alteration tasks on civil aviation articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturers’ Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Services Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Complete review of component work order to ensure proper work scope is initiated.
Perform functional test for all Ignition Exciters inducted.
Disassemble electrical aircraft engine accessories with the use of hand tools and soldering stations.
Remove foam potting with precision detail to prevent damage from detail piece parts within the component.
Perform functional test for all Ignition Exciters inducted.
Document maintenance records of all repair work orders performed.
Remove identification and safety labels from components with use of a scraper/razor blade.
Ensures up-to-date knowledge of all tools and proper use of equipment within assigned area of responsibility.
Administer foam potting back into the components after they are assembled.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma/GED equivalent
1-2 years of relevant/technical work experience
Flexible to changing workloads/priorities based on customer requirements.
Maintain an orderly and productive work environment.
Ability to function in fast paced environment while maintaining a high level of quality.
Basic computer operating skills (Word).
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
3 years of relevant experience in aviation MRO industry.
High Mechanical aptitude.
OTHER:
