Job Summary
The Production Technician performs tasks involved with the manufacturing, packaging, and shipping of fluid sealing products. The Production Technician provides effective customer service for all internal and external customers by using excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products and programs as well as communicating effectively with team members.
Essential Functions
- Fabricate finished gaskets from various materials with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) manufacturing equipment and/or by hand efficiently and with maximum utilization of material
- Receive, document, and fill orders in accordance with sales/purchase order
- Ensure quality standards are met in all areas as outlined in VSP’s Quality Manual
- Perform weekly and monthly preventative maintenance procedures on machines and equipment used
- Operate a fork truck and/or hand truck to move material both in plant and to/from trucks
- Attach appropriate labels, tags, and information to products and packages ensuring that all products are properly and accurately labeled
- Maintain established inventory stocking levels including ordering, receiving, and restocking of both finished goods and raw materials
- Package and ship finished goods in accordance with sales/purchase orders
- Provide accurate delivery and shipment tracking information
- Work in a safe manner that protects and promotes a health and well-being of the employees and the environment
- Maintain a work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition that follows prescribed safety regulations
- Deliver finished product to customers as necessary
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience relating to the job duties
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must possess or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card (where applicable)
- Experience or training in manufacturing process/environment (Preferred)
- CNC manufacturing equipment experience (Preferred)
