What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dance Instructor (2025/2026 School Year) position at VSS Dance?
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach dance classes in various styles (ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, hip-hop, acro) to students from preschool to high school.
- Plan engaging and age-appropriate lessons tailored to class levels.
- Choreograph for recitals, competitions, and special performances.
- Foster a positive and supportive environment that promotes student confidence and creativity.
- Collaborate with the Artistic Director and team to ensure cohesive programming.
- Attend staff meetings, events, and performances as required.
- Communicate effectively with students and parents about progress and studio updates.
Requirements:
- Strong technical foundation in at least one dance style; versatility is preferred.
- Teaching experience in a dance setting.
- Experience choreographing for recreational or competitive levels.
- Passion for working with children and teens, with adaptable teaching methods.
- Professional, reliable, and enthusiastic, with excellent communication skills.
- Evening and weekend availability as needed.
- Background check required before hiring.
