Job Summary
The Vice President, Network Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer (CCPO) will lead and oversee the University of Vermont Health Network's Compliance and Privacy programs. This senior role involves developing, administering, and continually improving compliance and privacy initiatives across all healthcare partners in Vermont and Northern New York.
The CCPO will report directly to the Network Board of Trustees Audit Committee on critical compliance and privacy issues, while maintaining collaborative reporting lines to the Network General Counsel and other Senior Management members. The position supervises a team of 12, including Network Partner Compliance and Privacy Officers, Compliance and Privacy Manager, Compliance Supervisor, and associated analysts and specialists.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, implementation, and improvement of compliance and privacy programs.
- Report compliance updates and issues to the Board of Trustees Audit Committee, CEO, and other senior leaders.
- Collaborate with the Network General Counsel, Information Services Security Officer, and leadership at network affiliates to address compliance and privacy needs.
- Serve as a primary contact for State and Federal agencies on compliance or privacy issues.
- Investigate and resolve compliance concerns, ensuring adherence to all relevant healthcare regulations and laws.
- Supervise and guide compliance and privacy personnel, ensuring a cohesive and effective team.
- Develop strategic initiatives to strengthen the network's compliance framework and organizational ethics.
Required Qualifications
Juris Doctor (strongly preferred) or Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
Minimum 5 7 years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare compliance and privacy.
Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement systems, fraud and abuse laws, and patient privacy regulations.
