Summary
The Production Planner is responsible for generating production planning paperwork and associated supporting documentation based on released Sales Orders and Engineering data.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Plans and schedules workflow for each work center and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times
· Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers
· Analyzes and interprets drawings, bills of material (BOMs), work scopes, process specifications etc. to determine the content and plan manageable work plans
· Coordinates with supervisor to ensure that the timing of the work order is properly staged in the overall master schedule.
· Raises Purchase Requisitions for emergent material shortages and communicates the production timing and need to Purchasing.
· Validates all Purchase Requisitions based on work order requirements. Updates work order BOM’s to ensure alignment with part demand.
· Prepare lists of required materials, tools, and equipment
· Provide quotations to Sales or Engineering for standard, labor hours and lead time
· Communicates with Warehouse and Production to identify materials available for production plan

Education and/or Experience
Minimum of 2 years applicable experience in Manufacturing Planning or associated discipline in a manufacturing make to order environment.
Mathematical Skills
Basic math skills are necessary for this position.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to analyze work order steps for proper logic, sequence and alignment with BOMs and Repair processes
Computer Skills
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, TEAMS and Outlook.
Familiarity with MRP / ERP systems.
