Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patient health status, including vital signs, medical history, and telemetry readings, ensuring timely and accurate care.
- Administer prescribed medications, injections, and cardiac drips with precision and adherence to proper protocols.
- Perform wound care, catheterization, and IV management with confidence and expertise.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to create and implement individualized care plans, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide education and guidance to patients and their families about treatment plans and health management.
- Accurately document patient interactions and maintain compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
- Float to the Medical-Surgical (MS) unit as required to provide high-quality care across multiple departments.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and urgent care situations, delivering appropriate interventions to stabilize patients.
Experience
- Active New York State (NYS) Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- NIH Stroke Certification required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of current experience in Med Surg or MS/Telemetry (travel experience preferred).
- Proficiency in administering cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem), interpreting telemetry strips, and performing IV management.
- Availability to work every other weekend as required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a healthcare team.
