Complete Description:
Day To Day Responsibilities:
- Azure Architect will be advising agency on architecture and security concerns associated with Azure including in-place migrations/refactoring.
- The architect will need to make recommendations on lift, shift, and on-premises to cloud native migrations.
- Architect will need to make recommendations with refactoring within Azure environment.
- Architects will need to conduct testing within Azure to show minimal viable products of architecture.
- Architect will need to understand available offerings from client, MSI and other connected parties.
- Architect will make configurations to Azure in support of agency-level objectives. The configurations will be primarily to Azure-based services.
- The architect will need to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of cloud fundamentals
- Knowledge of single and multi-cloud strategies and implications
- Designing cloud solutions meeting business requirements
- Azure network and storage architecture
- Azure Services (e.g., Azure Key Vault, Entra ID)
- Azure Functions, Azure Web App/App Service, Containers, microservices, serverless
- Cloud security principles (zero trust, segmentation, conditional access, etc.)
- Architecting solutions to meet RPO and RTO objectives
- Effective documentation writing (position papers, architecture documents)
- Managing cloud-based security posture (vulnerability remediation, encryption, etc.)
- DevOps experience (Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise Cloud)
- Data storage: SQL Server, Oracle, Cosmos DB
- Experience as an on-premises architect
- Strong communication skills (technical business)
- Microsoft Certification in Azure Solutions Architect
