Job Title : Infrastructure Engineer
Location : White Plains, NY (Hybrid)
Duration : 12 months (With possible extension)
Project Overview
The Infrastructure Core Services (ICS) Specialist will work alongside a talented team accountable for lifecycle management and support of NYPA's digital initiatives and strategies.
This role includes operational responsibilities for hyperconverged platforms, cloud (AWS / Azure), and storage services.
Part of a cross-functional NYPA IT team including Architects, Network Support, Incident Management, Cyber Security, etc., ensuring resiliency and availability of key IT assets and services.
Job Functions & Responsibilities
Provide operational support for ICS operations, including Windows / Linux servers, SAN / NAS storage, VMWare virtualization, and Commvault backup systems.
Recommend operational efficiency improvements, such as IaaS, Lights Out Data Center solutions, Automation, Cloud, and Hybrid cloud solutions.
Operate critical infrastructure with component-level monitoring, real-time performance metrics, and trending.
Coordinate outages, hardware maintenance, and software maintenance.
Collaborate with NYPA's IT Service Management team to follow ITIL / ITSM service delivery models.
Skills
Strong knowledge of designing / implementing resilient solutions using virtualization, Microsoft clustering, enterprise storage, SAN solutions, Microsoft Server technologies, and SDNs.
Familiarity with monitoring / telemetry platforms like Splunk to manage SLAs, metrics, and KPIs.
Strong knowledge of IaaS solutions and related cloud offerings.
Experience with ITIL / ITSM service delivery processes and procedures.
Excellent organizational skills for technical planning and execution.
Strong communication skills to build cross-functional relationships.
Working knowledge of source control tools like Azure DevOps, Git, or SVN.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor's Degree preferred in Information Technology Management or a related field (equivalent work experience accepted).
Minimum 3 years of experience in IT, focusing on Critical Infrastructure deployments.
