VTG is seeking an Electronic Technician 3 to support multiple projects.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Serve as a technical leader for advanced installations, guiding project execution and ensuring adherence to standards. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
- Mechanical Assembly: Perform layout and mechanical assembly procedures for submarine CSRR and CANES-related racks. Report any issues or concerns to the lead engineering technician.
- Cable Installation: Install copper and fiber optic cabling across various submarine platforms, utilizing cableway routing and isometric drawings to ensure accurate placement.
- Testing Procedures: Conduct testing on installed system components, including continuity and megger tests, fiber optic light and loss tests, voltage frisks, wet/dry torque values, and tempest inspections.
- Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret test data to assess system performance and identify potential issues.
- Technical Reporting: Complete technical reports and objective quality evidence documentation, ensuring clarity and accuracy.

System Evaluation: Verify the functionality of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance before System Operational Verification Testing
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesUnder limited supervision, this position may involve supervising one or more entry-level non-supervisory employees. Responsibilities include carrying out supervisory duties in alignment with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Specific responsibilities may encompass:
- Training: Providing training and mentor to entry-level technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Work Management: Planning, assigning, and directing work to ensure efficient work-flow and project completion.
- Performance Appraisal: Evaluating employee performance, providing constructive feedback, and conducting performance appraisals.
- Employee Relations: Rewarding and disciplining employees as necessary, while addressing complaints and resolving issues effectively.
- Leadership: Serving as the lead technician on complex or routine installations, ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices.
Education/Experience:
- BS in electronics plus three years of related work experience, AS plus four years of related experience, or HS or equivalent plus six years of work related experience and/or training. Full understanding and familiarization of electricity and electronics required.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Computer Skills:
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
