Essential Job Functions :
- Investigate and document workmanship, material, and warranty defect claims
- Repair, rehang, finish, and machine doors in a field setting
- Provide solutions for field repairs of defects in lieu of replacement when possible
- Coordinate field-fix or replacement resolution
- Schedule the field repair with customer and site contact
- Adhere to jobsite safety requirements at all times, including safety training and PPE compliance
- Utilize negotiating skills in presenting and resolving claim issues
- Achieve, track, and report field repair sign off
- Document repair resolution details for internal review for corrective action and process improvement
- Maintain professional communication with production, customer service, and customers
- Assist with claim review, resolution, and documentation when field repairs are not are not scheduled
- Process warranty claim replacements following standard processes
- Support team members and customers with minor repair solutions
- Provide the customer with technical documentation applicable to VT wood door construction
- Participate in team meetings
- Travel minimum 70% of the time to complete field work
- Support 5S / lean program by keeping work area organized
- Follow all safety policies and procedures at all times
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Physical Requirements
Tolerance for sitting long periods of time. Possess finger dexterity to write, type, and use a calculator. Maintain adequate vision to view small print and computer terminal. Ability to speak and hear, walk throughout facilities with occasional moderate lifting (50 pounds), stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching with hands and arms required. Ability to travel between multiple facilities as required to perform core job duties. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Ability to climb up or down ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and / or hands and arms. Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces. Ability to bend body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
