Description
The Senior Producer in Creative Technology at VT plays a pivotal role in shaping and managing the integration of cutting edge hardware and electromechanical systems into diverse projects. This position involves strategic oversight, from developing best practices in system design to coordinating with various teams to meet project milestones with excellence. The Senior Producer leads efforts in design, fabrication, and testing, while also fostering a collaborative and innovative culture within the team. Additionally, they provide onsite leadership during installations and work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to align on creative and technical requirements. With a commitment to quality and precision, this role ensures the seamless execution of complex, high impact projects.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Strategic Oversight :
- Supervise and establish best practices for system design and integration, ensuring adherence to quality standards and project objectives
- Actively contribute to the Creative Technology team and collaborate with the broader VTProDesign team in planning hardware integration for both short-term and long-term projects
- Assist the department leadership team in developing and articulating the integration of technology into projects
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Creative, Production, Fabrication) to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards
Team Management :
Oversee the creation and integration of reliable systems, including component integration, fabrication methodology, and comprehensive documentationLead and support the design, testing, modification, fabrication, and assembly of hardware and electromechanical systems based on project requirementsFoster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learningManage resources effectively to meet project timelines and objectivesOnsite Leadership :
Oversee onsite installations, facilitating troubleshooting efforts and assisting in the solving of technical issues related to electromechanical and software systemsCollaborate with Production, Creative, Fabrication, and External Vendor teams to ensure seamless project executionCollaboration and Coordination :
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, programmers, fabricators, and vendors, to guide the execution strategy for Creative Technology and hardware systemsCollaborate with clients to understand their creative and technical requirementsCollaborate on the design and review of electrical layouts, mechanical drawings, site plans, and contribute to technical and design reviewsTechnical Expertise :
Oversee and support the assembly of electromechanical systems, from simple to complexContribute to research, development, and implementation of new tools, processes, and technologiesOversee the maintenance efforts for existing and future long-term installationsWorkspace Management :
Assist with planning, organization, and maintenance of the Creative Technology workspace(s)Undertake ad hoc responsibilities within Creative Technology as neededPhysical requirements include, but are not limited to, the following :
Ability to stand for extended periods of timeAbility to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds individually and occasionally in excess of 100 pounds in a team liftAbility to kneel, stoop, crouch, lay down, and climb ladders or stairs as needed to perform tasks such as accessing low or high components on builds, installation, inspecting or repairing installed technology, or retrieving items from storage areas.Physical activities required of this job include, but are not limited to : bending, carrying, climbing, crouching, feeling, finger movement, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, rapid work speed, speaking, reaching, repetitive motions, seeing, sitting, standing, stooping, talking, twisting, walking, and walking on irregular surfaces.Working Conditions :

5 Years of technical project management experienceStrong understanding of mechanical principles and designExperience with CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360)Experience with fabrication and assembly techniques and best practicesExperience with rapid prototyping technologies (3D Printing, Laser Cutting, CNC, etc.)Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPosition Details
