What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shape Lifeguard- Student Employment (Workstudy Eligibility Preferred) position at VTSU?
Must have current certification in advanced lifesaving, CPR, and first aid lifeguard certified through the American Red Cross. You must have the ability to swim proficiently, use rescue equipment well, and have the ability to surface dive to bottom of deep end of pool. Public relations skills are also very important. You must be able to work independently. You must also be able to deal with difficult situations. Any person wishing to lifeguard must have fulfilled the requirements of the Red Cross Advanced Lifesaving course.To provide supervision of pool and its occupants. Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise, control and rescue (if needed) anyone within the swimming pool area and deck. Duties will consist of life guarding, pool supervisions, and some pool maintenance.
