An exciting opportunity exists for a Core Handler to join our Atchison, KS Team. The Core Handler role is to work under the Beforecast department and meet production needs in the Core room.
Shift: 1st
Pay: $23.68 - $24.39
Purpose Statement:
The Core Handler supports production needs by making/transporting cores and following a core schedule within the core department. Cores are placed inside a sand mold and prevent molten metal from solidifying to develop a blank space or hollow inside within the casting.

Primary Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Operate a jib hoist
- Place rod and chills in the boxes
- Operate the sand mixer
- Strike sand of the top of the core boxes
- Operate rollover machine
- Use of tools to remove the core from the box
- Operate crane or powered rollers
- Spray boxes with release agent
- Set rods and chills
- Other duties as assigned
Key Selection Criteria
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Able to work in small spaces
- Able to stand and walk constantly
- Frequently change positions
- Occasionally reach, sit, grasp, or hold
- Able to work in hot/cold environments
- Lift, carry, push-pull 20-50 lbs. occasionally
