Arwood Machine seeks a Site Quality Lead for our Newburyport, MA location.
Job Purpose
As the Site Quality Lead at Arwood Machine, a VulcanForms Company, located in Newburyport, MA, you will be responsible for the execution of all quality team activities at the Newburyport, MA, facility. This includes support of existing customers in the aerospace and defense industries and new customers in other industries, such as medical device.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage the execution of all quality team activities at the Newburyport, MA, location
- Lead quality efforts to support new product introduction, current customers, and management responsibilities for quality engineering and quality control (e.g., inspectors, CMM programmers)
- Responsibilities include leadership and guidance; employee planning and assigning work direction
- Supports facility audits by outside agencies (i.e., FDA, ISO / MDSAP) and acts as a management representative and subject matter expert to demonstrate compliance to regulatory requirements and the Quality System
- Support the preparation of quality metrics and continuous improvement projects and identify areas for improvement
- Support QMS integration efforts with the sister facility in Devens, MA
- Responsible for managing calibration system, inspection, and response to customer quality complaints
- Support of CAPA, NCR, training, supplier quality, and internal audit programs.
- Supports all aspects of the product lifecycle for products in scope, including sustaining activities, design change management, complaint investigations and ongoing risk management activities
- Stakeholder and collaborator with senior management relating to project, process, business, and quality decisions
- Other Quality responsibilities, delegations and special projects as assigned by Management
Qualifications
- 15 years of relevant experience
- Working knowledge of codes and standards: QSR, ISO:9001, AS9100, ISO:13485
- Understanding of manufacturing materials, equipment, and processes (machining, assembly, inspection equipment)
- Experience with audits
- Attention to detail and strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
