The role of the Health Coordinator is to participate, as a member of the division’s Safety / Environmental Team, in executing our Strategic Initiatives while leading the division’s occupational health efforts.
Basic Job Functions:
- Courageous leadership of the division’s occupational safety efforts with direct oversight of our health and medical programs
- Lead and drive results in achieving our Safety goals
- Actively engage as a member of our enterprise, group, and divisional leadership teams
- Proactively identify and implement policies, procedures, training, and programs that strengthen our industrial hygiene practices and effectiveness in this area of safety
- Manage all aspects of our OSHA training / reporting requirements, drug screening program, and any other current or future health / medical programs
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times
Minimum Qualifications:
- Three years of direct occupational safety experience in a manufacturing environment
- Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license or ability to obtain within 12 months
- Current OSHA General Industry Safety and Health Management certification or ability to obtain in 12 months
- Ability to achieve results by setting high expectations and driving efforts to completion
- Must be effective at organizing, planning, prioritizing work
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
