Basic Job Functions:
The primary responsibilities of the Material Handler are to safely and efficiently operate forklifts, overhead bridge cranes, and yard trucks to handle, move, store, load, and unload, steel joist and deck products. This role also involves assisting in safety and housekeeping improvements as well as other duties as assigned.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Compensation Data:
Starting compensation for this role is $15.60 per hour and is eligible to earn a weekly Production Bonus and annual division earned Profit Sharing bonus. When factoring in the Production Bonus using a 4-year average, starting annual pay ranges between approximately $75,000 - $85,000 per year.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Prior completion of Fork Lift training or successful completion within the first 3 months.
2. High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience operating fork lifts, overhead cranes and loading/unloading tractor trailers
