Basic Job Functions:
The QA Supervisor will be responsible for Taking Care of Our Customers by working as a division leader at Vulcraft Texas. The QA Supervisor will be expected to lead a team of inspectors who verify the quality of fabricated products provided to our customers. Develop and implement quality standards. Work with other departments. The QA Supervisor will also be expected to work collaboratively with other divisions to achieve the desired results in safety, quality, cost, productivity, and profitability. The QA Supervisor must personally demonstrate the values that make up the Nucor culture. Responsibilities also include working more than 40 hours per week as necessary and travel to resolve job site problems on short notice.
Expectations for the position include the following:
AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or ability to become certified within 1 year
AWS SMAW & GMAW certified welder or ability to become certified within 6 months.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
2 years minimum experience with Vulcraft or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook, and Word, and SAP
- Experience with Quality Management Systems
- Understanding of inspection procedures
- Knowledge and experience with SJI and AWS welding specifications
- Experience working as an Inspector I, Lead Person, or other supervisory position
