General Overview :
The EHS Manager is responsible for the planning, directing, and sustenance of the organization’s Environmental, Health, and Safety policies and programs to ensure the safety of all employees, visitors, and contractors. This includes but is not limited to the protection of the environment and maintaining compliance with global and local regulations for the Montgomery, Illinois facility.
Basic Minimum Requirements :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Must have 5 or more years of experience implementing and administering EHS standards, and programs in a manufacturing environment.
- Must have 5 or more years of working directly with governmental agencies including but not limited to OSHA, USEPA, IEPA, IEMA, IDPH, Local Health Departments, Fire Department and emergency Planning Agencies, and Local POTWs (Publically Owned Treatment Works).
- Demonstrated experience in leading cultural change across an organization; experienced in leveraging multiple approaches to helping people adopt and implement controlled sustained change.
- Demonstrated experience in leading continuous improvement activities and programs, leveraging processes, tools, and best practices.
- Proven track record for implementing strategies that enhance a safe culture while balancing needs for productivity and profitability.
- Related post-education training, and certifications such as CIH, and CSP is preferred.
- Budget / cost management; strategic planning and leadership experience are required.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Skype for Business, etc.).
- Must be able to respond to urgent or emergencies outside of normal working hours as needed.
- Must have shift flexibility to accommodate a 24 / 7 manufacturing operation.
