GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing accurate, professional and prompt member service while performing a variety of financial transactions.  The position requires great deal of flexibility in executing all branch functions and engaging in high levels of interaction with members.  Takes on leadership role in the branch, providing reliable assistance to management including training, mentoring, and coaching.  Maintains knowledge on all related products, services, and promotions to effectively create cross-sale opportunities based on member needs.

This role is eligible for a language stipend of $200/monthly after 90 days of employment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Two (2) years of similar retail banking experience

WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT:

This job requires the employee to sit or stand for extended periods of time.  Infrequent lifting up to 25 lbs.

 

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Must comply with all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).  Must be able to obtain license through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS). 

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES AND TASKS:

  1. Assist in overseeing the day-to-day work of others including scheduling, training, mentoring, and coaching.  Approves various types of transactions and assists with difficult transactions, resolves member escalations, out-of-balance issues, etc.

  2. Acts as point of contact for members and delivers personalized member service with enthusiasm and positivity.

  3. Performs sales, service and operational functions in the branch.  Processes a variety of transactions promptly, accurately and efficiently to include deposits, transfers, withdrawals, opening and/or performing maintenance on new accounts, IRAs, CDs, loans, etc. in accordance with credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  4. Proactively builds, develops and maintains relationships with members to ensure a positive member experience. 

  5. Determines members’ financial needs and recommends appropriate products and services.  Educates member on the various products and services available including online and mobile banking.  Creates cross-selling opportunities in order to meet branch and individual sales goals.

  6. Handles routine to complex member inquires.  Resolves members' requests, problems, and complaints or directs them to the appropriate person or department for information and assistance.

  7. Performs branch closing and /or opening duties in absence of management.

  8. Keeps up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all credit union products, services, promotions, policies, procedures, rules and regulations.

  9. Open business accounts and refer to other lines of business.
  10. Review and approves fiduciary documents for compliance.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.
