Maintenance Technician – First Shift Mon-Friday

Vylon Pipe is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure the optimal performance of our extrusion equipment. This role is critical for maintaining high production standards and ensuring equipment longevity. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with operators and management.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

· Perform regular and preventive maintenance on extrusion equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

· Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues efficiently.

· Conduct detailed inspections and adjustments of machinery components such as screws, barrels, and die head.

· Perform welding for repairs and fabrications as needed to maintain equipment precision and performance.

· Implement proactive maintenance strategies to prevent small issues from escalating into costly repairs and downtime.

· Work closely with machine operators to understand and address operational issues.

· Communicate maintenance status, challenges, and improvements to management through detailed reports.

· Experience in maintaining and repairing forklifts is considered a plus.

· Must own a basic set of professional maintenance tools.

· CDL preferred to facilitate the handling and transport of large equipment and materials.

Required Qualifications:

· Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a maintenance capacity on production manufacturing equipment and/or have equivalent training or relevant education.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills for documenting procedures, shift handovers, and maintenance records.

· Ability to read and interpret basic assembly instructions and technical documents.

· Proficiency in basic computer applications for reporting and maintenance management.

· Good mechanical and electrical knowledge, including the ability to understand mechanisms and wiring.

· Basic math skills for using measuring equipment.

· Skill with a voltmeter to check AC/DC voltage, read continuity checks, and understand expected voltages.

· Basic knowledge of pneumatic system operations.

· Physical capability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, working in tight spaces, and working from heights using fall protection.
