We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Parts Manager to join our team and manage our inventory, customer service, and procurement processes. We are the largest transport refrigeration dealer of Carrier Transicold, a world leader in Truck, Trailer and rail refrigeration systems. We are also the nation’s largest full service Hyundai Translead trailer dealer. We have 21 facilities throughout the Southwest, including Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Ohio. Job Overview:
As a Parts Manager at W&B Service Company, you will be responsible for overseeing the parts department, ensuring accurate inventory management, timely procurement, and excellent service to both internal and external customers. You will play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly by maintaining optimal stock levels, working with vendors, and supporting the service team with the necessary parts and supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the parts department, including inventory control, ordering, receiving, and storing parts.
- Oversee and maintain an organized parts storage system to ensure accurate and efficient inventory management.
- Collaborate with the service team to identify parts needs and ensure timely availability.
- Procure parts from vendors, negotiate pricing, and build relationships with suppliers to ensure cost-effective sourcing.
- Handle parts ordering and returns, ensuring that proper procedures are followed.
- Assist in creating and maintaining part pricing structures, managing parts sales, and processing customer orders.
- Monitor parts usage, identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory, and implement strategies to optimize stock levels.
- Supervise parts staff, providing training, guidance, and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in parts handling and storage.
- Work closely with the service department to ensure seamless coordination of parts needs and timely repairs.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on parts inventory and sales.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in parts management, automotive parts, or related field (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of parts management systems, inventory control, and procurement processes.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to supervise, train, and motivate staff.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Basic understanding of automotive or industrial systems (preferred).
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications related to parts management or automotive service is a plus.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with inventory software and Microsoft Office.
