What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Road Service Technician position at W.D. Matthews Machinery Co.?
POSITION SUMMARY
The Road Service Technician repairs forklifts and various other equipment that W.D. Matthews Machinery Co. sells and services at customer locations. The equipment a Road Service Technician is expected to maintain and repair includes, but is not limited to; gas, diesel, propane and electric powered material handling equipment as well as aerial lift and manlift equipment. The Road Service Technician position reports directly to the Service Manager and operates under minimal supervision. This position coordinates with the Dispatch team to complete work orders in an organized and timely manner. The Road Service Technician works primarily on the road and operates out of a company vehicle. This position requires at least three to five years of mechanical experience working on equipment / machinery. Corrective and preventative forklift maintenance experience is highly desirable. The position requires a high school diploma, but a Vocational Tech education with a focus in the automotive, equipment, or hydraulics is preferred. General computer experience is needed to run diagnostic and other programs. This position also requires having the necessary tools to perform the job.
