Duties and Responsibilities
- Welcomes every customer as they enter the showroom and proactively offer assistance utilizing engaging questions to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise
- Assists clients’ with purchases by utilizing product knowledge, answering questions and making product suggestions
- Retrieves merchandise from sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations;
- Processes returns and exchanges.
- Supports the visual standards of the showroom including merchandising, dusting and cleaning as needed.
- Assist clients with POS purchases in store.
- Place and track custom orders for clients with our vendor partners.
- Receive Inventory shipments, manually break down shipping materials, put product away and enter received product in Shopify
- Ensure inventory counts are correct including participating in periodic cycle counts and annual physical inventory
- Fulfill eCommerce orders – Pull product, package and ship
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education and Experience
Necessary and desirable qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Problem Solver - Able to execute tasks with varying degree of supervision
· Passion for Design - A background in design, architecture or art is preferred (consistency in language between preferred and desired?)
· Product Expert – A background in high-end furniture sales is desired with a strong understanding of furniture construction, seat suspension, wood species, and upholstery & leather types
· Interest in Marketing and Social Media preferred
· Curious Spirit – Relishes new experiences and interactions
- Demonstrates a high level of energy and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
· Luxury Retail Background preferred (See not above)
· Excellent active listening skills
· Excellent sales and customer service skills
· Ability to anticipate customer’s needs
· Ability to recommend merchandise to customers
· Ability to operate or to quickly learn the stores point-of-sale system
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Experience using

- Education (degree(s) required)
- High school diploma required, bachelor’s in interior design degree a plus
- Experience (years of experience required)
- 4 years of retail experience
- 2 years administrative experience
Working Conditions
Working conditions are normal for an office environment with flexibility in schedule. Work requires some weekend and evening work. Some travel may be required. Open Saturday Availability – 1-3 Saturdays a month required. Holiday Availability including Black Friday and Christmas Eve required.
Physical Requirements
This position may include physical demands such as the ability to intensely focus and handle stressful situations. Ability to lift items & boxes up to 50 lbs. while utilizing appropriate techniques. Ability to maneuver effectively around showroom and office. Position entails prolonged standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending and climbing. Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
