Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Manager to join our team, with a preference for candidates based in the Bay Area. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on field experience, 3-5 years within VDC and a deep understanding of construction workflows, coordination, and technology integration.
As a VDC Manager, you will oversee the implementation of BIM/VDC processes across multiple projects, collaborating closely with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to drive efficiency and innovation in preconstruction and construction phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage VDC/BIM processes for various projects, ensuring seamless coordination between design and field teams.
- Develop and implement BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and VDC workflows to enhance project efficiency.
- Oversee 3D modeling, clash detection, and coordination efforts using platforms such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and ACC.
- Collaborate with field teams, providing constructability analysis, site logistics planning, and virtual coordination.
- Conduct clash detection reviews and work with project stakeholders to resolve conflicts before construction.
- Train and support internal teams and subcontractors on BIM/VDC best practices and software tools.
- Ensure VDC deliverables align with project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to improve VDC strategies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 3-5 years of field experience in VDC/BIM coordination within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, BIM 360, Synchro, and other VDC tools.
- Experience working on commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, field operations, and coordination processes.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining strong communication with teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve design clashes and construction challenges.
- Must be a U.S. citizen due to project requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with 4D scheduling and quantity takeoff tools.
- Knowledge of laser scanning, drone technology, and reality capture applications.
