Position Overview:
We are looking for a motivated Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years of experience with tax documentation input and client follow-up. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and advance your career in tax preparation. You will work closely with a supportive team, with all work being reviewed by a supervising accountant before being finalized by the company owner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Input tax documentation and data into tax preparation software accurately and efficiently
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates
- Follow up with clients regarding missing or incomplete tax documents
- Ensure all tax forms are completed in a timely manner for review
- Assist with any other administrative tasks related to tax preparation
- Collaborate with senior staff and ask questions to clarify any uncertainties, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Skills and Qualifications:
- At least 1-2 years of experience in tax preparation or a related field
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent client communication skills, both written and verbal
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy under tight deadlines
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and ask questions when needed
- Experience with tax preparation software is a plus (e.g., ProSeries, Lacerte, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Position Details:
- Full-time (30-40 hours per week) during the tax season (February through April)
- Part-time during the off-season (May through January)
- Potential for remote work after the first tax season, based on performance
