Position Summary:
Develop and maintain time-based schedules for W.G. Tomko projects using scheduling tools
(e.g., Microsoft Projects, Microsoft Excel, Primavera P6, SureTrak, and other scheduling software) to include evaluate labor needs and costs.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for communicating, updating, and executing project schedules, identifying, and resolving issues impacting production goals, providing in-process material status, and monitoring critical shortages.
- Responsible for projecting manpower requirements and tracking throughout the job.
- Responsible to attend and or run Pull Planning meetings.
- Must interact and coordinate with all business departments project management, estimating, fabrication, CADD, purchasing, and warehouse to achieve scheduled deliverables.
- Responsibilities to understand current process capabilities and limitations required to develop project schedules, facilitate daily Program production meetings (as required) and work to achieve on-time completion of tasks to 90%.
- Will have the responsibility of managing subcontractors as it pertains to tracking of quantities installed and reporting percent complete.
- Provide support for project reviews using Tomko methods, tools, and information
- Work together with the program and cost team to provide all the above.
- Read blueprints, manufacturer’s data sheets, fabrication, and assembly drawings to aid project managers in the planning and scheduling processes.
- Produce input to executive reporting requirements.
- Provide recommendations as to the type and nature of contractual cost and schedule reporting requirements appropriate for upcoming procurements and government projects.
- Support assessments, and risk identification of contractor/government activity performance.
- Provide input to assessments of the validity of the data and information.
- Provide assessments of the adequacy of contractor/government activity baseline implementation.
- The ability to perform credible impact studies as it pertains to project schedules.
- Must also be proficient in MS outlook, Excel and Word and be a self-starter able to work with a minimal supervision.
- Must have exceptional oral/written skills and detail oriented and enjoy working in a fast- paced environment.
- Attends and presents scheduling in turnover meetings.
- Consults with project teams to devise project work plans, duties, responsibilities, and the overall scope of authority.
- Reviews status reports from project teams and modifies schedules and budgets when needed.
- Prepares monthly reports for select jobs to show comparisons of manpower per bid schedule, actual manpower and projected manpower to complete specific projects.
- Assists project teams and other Project Managers with problem resolution.
- Ensures excellent communication between all departments throughout the Tomko facilities.
- Promotes excellent morale throughout all departments and divisions.
- Assists with enforcing all Tomko rules and procedures such as accounting, administrative, safety, etc.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Organizational skills to coordinate tasks pertaining to construction projects.
- Proficient in scheduling software such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Primavera
P6 and Sure-Trak.
- Sufficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Sufficient knowledge of mathematics including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute and interpret manpower reports, charts and graphs.
- Ability to schedule and prioritize all work assignments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of diverse individuals.
- Ability to enforce and abide by all Tomko rules and procedures.
- Excellent Knowledge of construction plans and specification.
Qualifications:
- Must have a Minimum of 5 years’ specific experience in construction scheduling
- Extensive scheduling experience with building vertical construction
- Specific experience with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Projects
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management is preferred
- Organizational skills to coordinate tasks pertaining to construction projects
- Sufficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Sufficient knowledge of mathematics including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute and interpret charts and graphs
- Ability to schedule and prioritize all work assignments

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibility, but does have interaction with Project
Management and Executive Level Management.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Effort:
Light physical effort, requires handling of average-weight objects up to 15 pounds and some standing and walking.
Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30am to
4:30pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
