Job Summary:
Quantity surveyor for multiple projects, including baseline setup and auditing of projects as assigned. Has a strong understanding of Construction progress rules of credit for key disciplines, including concrete, site work, steel, pipe, mechanical equipment, Instrumentation, and electrical. This role requires construction experience and will report to the Assistant Project Manager.
Primary Duties:
- Progress and Performance baseline establishment and reporting
- Quantity change management
- Rules of credit administration under the direction of the P&P Lead
- Member of the Progress and Performance audit team
- Basic knowledge of Progress and Performance techniques and work process
- Demonstrate Yates Core Values and Principles

- Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work by the established Yates Safety Procedures and Work Practices
- Report all incidents, near hits, and hazards to management.
- Required to wear and maintain personal PPE.
- Advise fellow employees of hazardous situations.
- Participate in workplace inspections.
- Comply with statutory requirements, including duty of care.
- Participate in required and/or assigned training.
- Provide suggestions to improve Safety.
- Present a mature approach to working safely.
- Attend prestart and Safety meetings and contribute.
- Assists with administering the site safety program as required and ensuring Trade Partner compliance with OSHA standards and Yates Site Specific Requirements and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
- Other related duties as needed and assigned by the Manager in support of the successful completion of the project.
Qualifications:
- An undergraduate University degree or higher (preferably in Construction Management, Engineering, or a closely related field) is preferred.
- Other relevant education, training, or work experience may substitute for a bachelors degree.
- 8 years experience in construction and engineering
- Multi-discipline construction field experience is highly preferred
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of construction progress and performance measurement and reporting
- Specific knowledge of the following areas:
- Site Work, including excavation, underground construction for pipe, electrical, and process control
- Concrete installation techniques such as structural foundations, equipment foundations, up to and including boiler and turbine foundations
- Structural Steel progress techniques
- Pipe takeoffs by ISO, including tracking field welds, shop fabrication, rack piping, insulation, etc.
- Equipment installation requirements for both rotating and stationary equipment, including pumps, compressors, tanks, heat exchangers, boilers, reactors, etc.
- Electrical power systems including cable tray, conduit, wire, terminations, testing
- Process Control systems, including instrumentation, DCS, etc.
Competencies:
- Ability to conceptualize progress baseline information (estimates) without complete information
- Good understanding of construction industry practices, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities
- Frequent travel required performing setup and audit support as required
- Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, ethical, and team player willing to grow with the company
Physical Demands/Essential Job Functions:
