This position is primarily responsible for welding various metal (carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome, alloy metals and aluminum). Need to have a certification in TIG, MIG, and Stick welding.
This is a travel job located Los Alamos, New Mexico, lodging will be provided along with Perdiem $50/day.

Requirements
- Includes welding pipes, structural and being able to stick, mig and tig.
- Responsible for gathering all leads, gases, rod and equipment to perform any welding.
- Ability to use oxygen/acetylene cutting torch.
- Selects torch, torch tip, filler rod and flux, according to welding chart specifications or type and thickness of metal.
- Connects regulator valves and hoses to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders, and welding torch.
- Turns regulator valves to activate flow of gases, lights torch and adjusts gas mixture and pressure, to obtain desired flame.
- Holds torch at proper angle to metal and guides along weld joint, applying filler rod to molten area to form weld.
- Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
- Preheats workpiece in furnace or with torch.
- Welds along vertical or overhead weld lines.
- Responsible for grinding and preparing metal surfaces before welding.
- Responsible for cleaning metals surfaces after welding is complete.
- Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or spatter.
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications accurately
- Ability to demonstrate the proper use of common welding and cutting processes.
- Ability to optimize welding productivity and performance.
- Knowledge of welder and welding safety standards.
- Knowledge of welding inspection.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong speaking, writing, and listening skills.
- Working 4-10's
- $50/day Perdiem
- Lodging is provided
- 5 years of proven experience in TIG, MIG, and Stick welding.
- Need to have a certification in TIG, MIG, and Stick welding.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to reach with arms and use tools above/over the head.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to stand (for extended periods of time), walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl and twist
- Ability to sit, balance and climb ladders, scaffolds and other objects.
- Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas.
- Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift in all weather and temperature extremes.
