Description
Drive a light vehicle, such as a truck or van, with a capacity of less than 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), primarily to deliver or pick up merchandise or to deliver packages. May load and unload vehicle.
- Strictly obey all traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
- Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition immediately reporting any mechanical problems; regularly complete vehicle inspection report.
- Load and unload trucks and other delivery vehicles.
- Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
- Pick up PO’s and ensure the accurate and timely completion daily delivery logs.
- Read maps and follow GPS and/or written & verbal geographic directions.
- Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to manager.
- Must perform job in a safe manner and observe all safety rules and guidelines.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three (3) years of related delivery driving experience.
- Must be at least 25 years of age.
- Clean and responsible driving record.
- Ability to interpret and follow maps, GPS, and/or other geographical references.
- Ability to follow specific instructions and adhere to safety guidelines.
- Must have valid state issued Driver’s License as required to drive on company business.
- Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.
- TWIC Card Preferred.
The work is performed in an office setting with moderate noise level. This job occasionally requires the employee to stand; walk; sit; use hands; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; read; talk or hear. The employee must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
