Overview
W. Lee Flowers is locally owned and operated! As an Loader you verify orders to be loaded onto truck to assure that customers get a correct and completely damage-free order. Load orders on truck in the proper sequence as to avoid damaging product during and transit to customers. Observing all safety regulations and ensuring all quality standards are met while maintaining the efficient flow of product through the production process. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duties assigned to best serve the company.
Pay based on experience and/or length of service.

Responsibilities
- Must work in a safe manner adhering to all company safety guidelines, update equipment daily, and check list.
- Account for all pallets of all commodities.
- Re-stack pallets as necessary to ensure no heavy items are loaded on light items that would damage in transit and that loads will properly fit on trailer.
- Must be able to operate and use jack in a safe manner so as not to endanger self or co-workers.
- Assemble loads with label facing out based on commodity and customer to assure product can be easily unloaded once at delivery site.
- Use jack to load product on trailer in proper sequence.
- Place required delivery equipment on trailer, shut and seal door.
- Complete paperwork and fill out load sheet.
- May be required to reach, lift, and stack cases ranging in weight from 1 to 100lbs.
- Sweep out trailers prior to loading.
- Must load by RF and understand all its functions.
- Responsible for following all training documents and procedures as it relates to Food Safety and Food Defense.
- May be required to do other tasks, as necessary, such as: Stand Up Lift Truck - take product received to/from storage area and place into slot, overhead storage, or surplus storage as required. Rotate product and hand stack cases as necessary to ensure proper product rotation. Aid Order Selectors by retrieving and scanning pallets from upper-level reserve slots and placing them into lower-level pick slots. Scan the new location and confirm the pallets are placed into the correct pick slots.
- Order Selection - Confirm picks by voice and use a scanner to enter random weight products. Stack cases of various shapes and weights on a pallet neatly and efficiently, fully hand wrap and tag pallets after completing each order and transport the pallets to the correct loading door.
Qualifications
- Must be able to reason and have basic decision-making skills.
- Must be able to read, write and possess basic math skills (i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Must possess ability to operate equipment mounted RF computer.
- Must be able to follow logical progression of guidelines in stacking and loading trailers.
- Must possess moderate level spatial reasoning problem solving skills (solve moderate loading issues through visualization and understanding of spatial relationships of objects of different sizes).
- Must be able to maintain a minimum weekly productivity average of 18 pallet scans/hour.
