Field Service Technician for EMI, (A Division of W&O)
Position Summary: The field service technician will provide field service and support for various marine (workboat) electronic and hydraulic control systems such as electro-hydraulic steering, engine controls, vessel automation, monitoring and related equipment.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent, Associate degree through technical school preferred, or Vocational training in electronics. Three years of related work experience; excellent working knowledge of electronic and mechanical equipment and systems; understanding of PLC logic and programming
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Position Summary: The field service technician will provide field service and support for various marine (workboat) electronic and hydraulic control systems such as electro-hydraulic steering, engine controls, vessel automation, monitoring and related equipment.
- Prepare for each work assignment by studying wiring diagrams, drawings and related specifications and understanding all requirements prior to proceeding with work.
- Travel to jobsites in provided (take-home) vehicle, primarily along the US Gulf Coast, but also to other parts of the US (flying when requested) and infrequently overseas.
- Verify that company’s equipment is properly installed, wired and/or plumbed, according to the drawings and specifications provided.
- Terminate field wiring, calibrate equipment and demonstrate satisfactory operation to customer and/or regulatory authorities.
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning electronic and mechanical equipment and systems.
- Use provided computer and software to access and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC); report back and modify as instructed by programming department.
- Keep meticulous time records, provide detailed service reports, thoroughly communicate field changes to engineering department, completing all documentation promptly.
- When not required for field service, work as instructed in company production shop to assemble and/or test various components and systems.
- Keep work environment clean and company vehicle, tools and other equipment in good working order; work in a meticulous and quality-minded manner.
- Participate in weekly 24 hour on-call rotation, typically on a 4-5 week cycle.
- Understand and follow all safety rules and procedures and promote safety in others.
- Perform other related duties and activities, as directed by supervisor
