Concave Grind Operator I
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Assuring work area is safe.
- Perform various skills of Fabricated Component Grinding department, while assuring safe work area
- Select proper rest and lifters for each order
- Calculate and set control to regulate machining factors such as speeds, feeds, etc.
- Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of balance tolerance machining and adjust machine controls or programs as required
- Must be able to adjust the head and CNC computer to ensure a quality part is achieved
- Determine and perform inspection of work using precision measuring and gauging tools, performing required inspection before, during, and after machining
- Follow all quality assurance specifications to prevent any defects, such as holes in blades and thin blades; must use provided surface finishing device to ensure the RA factor stays within specification
- Report the work order, part number, and quantity of components produced in an accurate and timely manner
- Periodically: fill out maintenance and/or tool & die request forms to ensure all machines, fixtures, and tooling are within specification
- At times: required to carry bins of blades – from workstation to the bowls, dryer, or sorting room
- Maintain adherence to safety initiatives while working in respective area according to SOP
- Maintain cleanliness of work area: during and upon completion of jobs; at end of shift
- Take instructions from supervisors.
- Assist Engineering/Quality departments as needed.

Physical Requirements:
- Standing: Able to stand for extended periods of times at machines.
- Moving: Normal, able to move throughout the department as required by operation.
- Lifting: Minimal, up to 35 pounds. Lifting trays with various components.
- Pushing/Pulling: As required by operation.
- Visual Acuity: Normal and/or corrected vision for inspection of work /components.
- Bending/Stooping: Normal, minimal.
- Hand Action: Able to pick up components and put them in a fixture.
Safety equipment required- Safety glasses and hearing protection.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of W.R. Case Job/Safety Orientation.
- On the job training.
