What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Intern position at W.R. Case?
The Engineering Intern will assist in the following:
- Development and implementation of new processes and equipment for the manufacturing process.
- Design and/or improve fixturing for manufacturing.
- Provide engineering support for the process technicians, Tool & Die makers and Maintenance on special projects as needed.
- Develop and submit research packages for process and equipment improvements, submitting for Capital Plan.
- Work with other engineering team members to ensure capital projects are transferred to manufacturing in a timely fashion. This will include the writing of SOP’s, training documentation, specifications and coordinating training for both the technician group but manufacturing associates as well.
- Assist with training program for all manufacturing associates.
- Assist in New Design & existing product development, ensuring all time lines are met.
- Develop effective processes for current and new product designs, ensuring to issue required new specifications & SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) to manufacturing.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Requires at least one year post-secondary school in related field, engineering preferred
- Knowledge of manufacturing principles, and root cause analysis
- Experience in CAD, AutoCAD or Inventor preferred, but not required
- Requires the ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong computer skills, Microsoft Word/Excel
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for environmental compliance preferred, but not required
