Job Description
We’re hiring a Process Safety Management (PSM) Leader who will be responsible for the PSM activities of our Baton Rouge, LA operations site and will report to the site Plant Manager. In addition, you will have PSM oversight of our Norco, LA site as well.
The Process Safety Leader will be responsible for both plant’s process safety initiatives playing a critical role in leading and driving business and operational objectives to include EHS, Quality, Productivity, and Cost Effectiveness. You will partner and advise engineering and operations staffs on all elements of Process Safety Management including but not limited to PHA/LOPA, , risk assessment, , process safety training, incident investigation, root cause analysis, audits, management of change, and corrective action management.
This role requires working onsite in Baton Rogue with the option of working a 5x80 or 9x80 work schedule.
Responsibilities
Works to ensure a safe working environment for employees
Ensure site and staff conformity with Grace Health and Safety and Process Safety Implementing Procedures (all relevant IPHS) and OSHA 1910.119 Process Safety Management of Highly Hazardous Chemicals as well as Risk Management Program
Manage and oversee the site Process Safety Management (PSM) manual to ensure all Process Safety Information is accurate, available, and organized for ongoing processes
Manage and oversee the site Safety Instrumented Systems program, including the design installation of new devices
Participate in incident investigation and reporting techniques and Root cause and Corrective Actions (RCCA)
Participate in field walks to evaluate proper safeguards are in place for process startups and process/equipment changes
Oversee the Relief and Pressure device site management which includes preparing/conducting calculations and managing documentation
Facilitate Process Hazard Analysis and risk assessments - to include HAZOPs, What-Ifs, FMEA, LOPA
Drive and gatekeep the Management of Change process
Provides input into capital budget to drive improved PSM and EHS deliverables
Identify, monitor, and maintain key performance indicators (KPI’s), and drive data access to the operator/craftsman level
Proactively identify development opportunities to build PSM and EHS expertise
Physical Requirements and Environment
Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a facility with highly hazardous and pyrophoric materials

Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.

Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
Required Qualifications
B.S. degree in Engineering or Science discipline
7-10 years’ experience Process Safety Management experience within a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient with PHA Works or PHA Pro
CCPS Process Safety Bootcamp training
Training/certification in PHA and PSM facilitation and procedures
Salary : $86,000 - $128,000
