Job Description
We’re hiring a Senior Quality Control (QC) Technician for our Baton Rouge, LA site who will report to the QC Supervisor. You will be responsible for performing laboratory work in testing a variety of products and recording/reporting results.
This position requires the ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts to include day, night, weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Performs chemical and/or physical analyses or scientific tests using both routine and special techniques in compliance with all safety standards
- Analyzes and processes laboratory samples
- Records results of tests, organizes data, performs basic computations, and prepares reports and analyses using standard procedures and guidelines
- Provide technical support to Manufacturing and R&D organizations as needed
- Active participation in required local safety program, along with the ability to work safely and maintain a clean and orderly lab environment.
- Operates, maintains and repairs laboratory test equipment, apparatus, systems and supplies
- Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materials
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
- Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
- B.S. Degree in Chemistry or other science related field
- 4 years’ experience working in a lab setting to include analytical or scientific methods operations knowledge
- Proficient with operation of typical computer controlled laboratory instrumentation
- Demonstrated the adherence of keeping written and/or electronic records
- Knowledge of chemistry
- Familiarity with computer programs such as MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to comply with all applicable regulatory requirements
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and be an effective team member
- Experience working in a manufacturing lab environment
