Wärtsilä Energy Storage Business is looking for a Engineering Manager - Printed Circuit Board Design , to lead the hardware design of our Battery Management System (BMS). The role will be part of the Hardware Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter that can work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. The candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment while the industry and company go through substantial growth.
The location for this position is Herndon, VA. Relocation package is provided.
Responsibilities
- Lead the hardware design of Battery Management System (BMS) for energy storage application through full product lifecycle from concept to production release.
- Provide overall leadership and administrative management for personnel which includes defining roles and responsibilities, conducting performance appraisals, participating in salary planning, promoting professional growth through timely performance feedback, coaching, and counseling, among other leadership responsibilities.
- Build and grow the team of PCB design engineers and PCB testing engineers.
- Lead the development of system specifications, PCB component selection, and layout.
- Evaluate product and system designs and configurations for compliance to relevant industry standards.
- Provide leadership with high integrity and oversight of processes protecting intellectual property, export controlled and strategic technology.
- Lead lab testing, field testing, and commissioning activities.
- Lead the development of product documentation such as manuals, application notes, and technical specifications.
- Collaborate in a team environment and / or take charge of opportunities to develop optimal solutions for customers and product development programs.
