FULL-TIME/PART-TIME: Full-Time
SCHEDULE: M-T, 9 hours (in-office)/F, 4 hours (remote)
FLSA STATUS: Salaried - Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Production Accountant's primary responsibilities revolve around allocating Company operated production using the ProCount production program. W & T uses ProCount to allocate oil, gas and water production to each completion as described in the Commingling Application approved by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management as well as other state agencies. This information is then fed into the RIO reserve system and, ultimately, into the Aries database.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Allocate oil and gas sales by owner for each W&T operated field and supply to marketing and revenue groups and assure compliance with the commingling agreement and production handling agreements
- Review allocated oil and gas sales at each platform
- Review the downstream distribution and allocation of volumes to each of the individual platforms and/or metering points
- Assist operations in setting up the measurement initiatives and assure accuracy of the data received by the production accounting group
- Prepare monthly reports to the Office of Natural Resources-Revenue (OGORs)
- Respond to regulatory agencies' questions concerning production volumes and timing
- Monitor accuracy of data input by field locations
- Prepare and distribute daily management production report
- Resolve data discrepancies
- Analyze and present proposals for improvements in data flow
- Book oil volumes for Revenue Accounting
- Additional special projects as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 5 years of oil and gas production accounting experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexible with changing priorities, demands of the role, and working with a diverse group of team members and leadership
- Expertise with production allocation programs, such as ProCount, is desired
- Basic level knowledge of revenue accounting programs, such as BOLO
- Strong analytical, math and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel are required
- Familiarity and understanding of Revenue Accounting
