Mechanic

Wage: $30-$40 per hour

W.W. Clyde & Co. Great Plains is seeking a motivated, full time, Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic.  Mechanic must be self-motivated, reliable, and safety minded to accomplish various service and repair procedures in the field in all different weather conditions. 

Qualifications: 

• 3-5 years heavy equipment experience on scrapers, dozers, excavators, backhoes etc. from various manufactures.   

• Ability to prioritize, manage time, work independently with little supervision. 

• Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers and leadership. 

• Self-motivated, detailed oriented, resourceful and reliable 

• Proficient with computers, tablets and their operating systems 

• CDL Class A or B, or ability to obtain one upon hire with medical card 

• Must have own tooling for construction equipment 

• Clean driving record and background 

• Pass pre and post-employment drug test 

• Travel may be required for short periods of time 

Responsibilities: 

• Accurately diagnose, inspect, and repair machine systems including but not limited to Tier 3 and 4 emissions systems, engines, hydraulic, and electrical.   

• Remove, repair, and install major components with service truck crane using proper rigging and techniques 

• Read and comprehend troubleshooting steps, electrical and hydraulic schematics 

• Follow directions 

• Look up parts 

• Check Microsoft Teams and email regularly, these are the primary forms of communication 

• Maintain service truck, crane and compressor 

• Good record keeping 

• Other assigned duties 

• Ongoing safety training 

• Take advice and guidance from leadership and other mechanics 

• Communicate status of repairs and timelines to field supervisors 

Physical requirement: 

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time 

• Work is awkward and uncomfortable positions 

• Stand, reach and bend for long periods of time
