Overview
POSITION: Safety Engineer
LOCATION: Jobsites Throughout Arizona
JOB SUMMARY: The Safety Engineer is responsible for working with management and employees on-site to ensure a safe and healthful work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Act as an ambassador for the Global Safety Team, championing the collaborative approach to Safety across the project.
- Possess relevant certification which includes at least one of the following
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Construction Safety and Health Technician (CHST)
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in an EHS discipline
- Graduate or Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)
- Occupational Safety and Health Technologist (OHST)
- Safety Trained Professional - Construction (STS-C)
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
- Provide evidence of having completed a 30 HR Construction Outreach Training Course, or its equivalent, within the last 3 years; or have a minimum of 3-5 years of qualified project safety experience on similarly sized projects of a similar type of construction & OSHA 30 (US) or NEBOSH Certificate/ Diploma (Europe/Asia) in last 3 years.
- Be current in CPR/First Aid training from a provider that is recognized by OSHA (US) or the local equivalent agency/authority/accreditation body.
Capabilities and Duties
- Be capable of conduction a complete incident investigation.
- Conduct Daily documented inspections that identify exposures and corrective actions.

- Communicate effectively with employees;
- Be responsible for maintaining a project list of all incidents that occur on their site;
- Be responsible for maintaining their OSHA 300 log or equivalent log of incidents, injuries and corrective actions;
- Inspect, review, and approve (if applicable) PTPs and JHAs;
- Clearly understand applicable state and local agency / authority safety and health regulations;
- Ensure that the safety orientations are conducted in accordance with the Site Specific Safety Program;
- Maintain an up-to-date list of all competent and qualified personnel on site;
- Ensure that all relevant safety training certifications have been verified and documented;
- Conduct weekly supervisory and management safety meetings;
- Ensure that special procedures are being done correctly (Confined Space Entry, LO/TO, excavations, etc.);
- Coordinate and escort personally (or assigned designee) injured employees with minor injuries to the designated medical clinic;
- Coordinate regulatory agency inspections by notifying all affected parties;
- Meet any additional requirements that are outlined in Site Specific Safety Program.
- Must be open to travelling to out of state jobsites as needed
